Makurdi – Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia appointed musician Innocent Idibia, known as 2Face Idibia (or 2Baba), as Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The announcement occurred during Idibia’s visit to the Government House in Makurdi. This appointment tasks the singer with using his background to connect the government with the creative sector and communities.
Governor Alia on the Appointment
Governor Alia cited 2Face Idibia’s support for his administration. “On behalf of the Benue State Government and our very good people, we want to give you some more responsibilities,” Alia said. “You have the capacity to do some more and help us chart a way forward to improve other people’s lives.” He added the state could benefit from Idibia’s “wisdom and advisement,” confirming the appointment as Technical Adviser.

As Technical Adviser, 2Face Idibia, originally from Benue’s Okpokwu Local Government Area, is expected to focus on:
