Menlo Park–WhatsApp will stop working on iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus models starting May 5, 2025. Parent company Meta is ending support because these devices cannot run iOS 15.1 or newer. iPhones Losing WhatsApp Access in May 2025
To use WhatsApp from May 5, 2025, your iPhone needs iOS 15.1 or a recent version. The following models cannot update and will lose support:
- iPhone 5s
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 6 Plus
These models max out at iOS 12.5.7. Verify your iOS version in Settings > General > About. If you have one of these iPhones, plan your upgrade before May 2025.
