EKITI STATE, NIGERIA – The Ekiti State Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gave its endorsement to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second terms. The group cited the leaders’ performance and policies as reasons for the support.
Backing for President Tinubu
Senator Yemi Adaramodu moved the motion supporting President Tinubu on Saturday. Adaramodu, who chairs the Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, called the President’s reforms “transformational” and said they affect the country’s socio-economic situation. “I move that we in Ekiti APC… want to adopt continuity, starting from President Tinubu, that come 2027, he should continue as President,” Adaramodu stated.
Confidence in Governor Oyebanji
Adeoye Aribasoye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, moved the motion to endorse Governor Oyebanji. Aribasoye praised the governor’s leadership and commitment to Ekiti’s development. He mentioned improvements in infrastructure, security, healthcare, and education under Oyebanji. “Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities… [with a] deep commitment to the welfare and development of Ekiti,” Aribasoye said. This endorsement reflects satisfaction with the governor’s work.
Party Leaders Welcome Decision
Party figures including former governors Kayode Fayemi and Niyi Adebayo welcomed the endorsements. Adebayo said, “The caucus has made itself very clear. We are all in support of the governor contesting for another term. Everyone is pleased with the work he is doing.” Governor Oyebanji thanked the party leaders for their confidence and President Tinubu for his support.
