ABUJA, NIGERIA – For students needing quick help with pressing concerns, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has launched a new emergency support centre. The board announced this initiative on Friday through its official X handle, aiming to offer an additional layer of assistance, especially for candidates navigating the current examination period.
This new service is designed to work alongside JAMB’s established ticketing platform. JAMB still regards the ticketing system as the primary and most efficient channel for most communications, but the emergency line offers a direct voice for those with immediate problems.
Need Urgent Help? JAMB Offers New Direct Line
The new Candidate Counselling Emergency Support Centre (CCESC) is now active. JAMB explained its purpose: “In addition to our usual and preferred ticketing platform for Candidates Support, JAMB has now opened a Candidate Counseling Emergency Support Centre (CCESC).”
If you are a candidate with a genuine, urgent concern, you can reach out to the dedicated team at the emergency support centre. Contact any of these officials:
- Gbenga
- Yusuf
- Dubem
- Tony
- Ogbonna
- Emma You can reach them by calling 07002200016.
While this new hotline provides immediate access, JAMB encourages candidates to continue using the online ticketing system for most issues. “Please note that the ticketing platform is still the primary and most effective method for communicating with the Board as it is fast and easy to use and also guarantees a quick reply,” the board’s statement reinforced.
Support Amidst UTME Retakes and WAEC Timetable Questions
This new support option arrives as over 300,000 candidates have been asked to retake their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This decision came after technical glitches at some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres caused score distortions. The rescheduled UTME began on Friday.
The timing of the JAMB emergency support centre launch also considers concerns raised by some candidates about the WAEC exam schedule. With the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) timetable yet to see formal changes, students have been worried about potential clashes. This emergency line could be a vital resource for students seeking clarity during this period.
