ORE, Ondo State – A shocking crime has struck the Ore community. A commercial motorcyclist, Nazifi Ibrahim, was brutally shot and killed on Tuesday night. The suspected armed robber, who had posed as a passenger, then stole his motorcycle. This motorcyclist murdered incident has left residents in Odigbo Local Government Area reeling.
The fatal attack occurred around 10:40 p.m. Ibrahim had just dropped the passenger on Alafia Street. “We do not yet know what exactly transpired between the deceased and his unknown assailant before he was shot,” a community source familiar with the tragic case shared.
Community Grieves Loss After Ore Motorcyclist Murdered
News of Ibrahim’s murder has sent waves of fear and anger through the Ore community. Fellow commercial motorcyclists are particularly shaken. They described Ibrahim as a well-known and respected hardworking man in the area.
“His death has deeply unsettled everyone here. He was a familiar face, always working hard,” another local source remarked. The assailant’s escape with Ibrahim’s motorcycle has heightened existing concerns about rising insecurity. It also underscores the dangers commercial riders face, especially during late hours.
Police Launch Manhunt, Investigation Underway
Confirming the disturbing incident, Police Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade stated that law enforcement was quickly alerted and responded to the scene.
“Upon receiving the information, the Divisional Police Officer in Ore and his team proceeded to the scene. There, they discovered the victim’s lifeless body and noted that his motorcycle had indeed been stolen,” Ayanlade detailed.
He further assured the public, “The command has initiated an immediate manhunt for those responsible for this heinous act. The investigation is actively ongoing.” Nazifi Ibrahim has since been buried according to Islamic rites, while the community waits for justice for the motorcyclist murdered.
