Kubwa Kidnapping: Gunmen Invade Abuja Area, Shoot One

ABUJA – Gunmen struck Gbazango Extension Relocation 2, near Arab Road in Kubwa, Abuja. The violent invasion happened around 1 a.m. on Saturday. One man was abducted. Another man was shot when he resisted the Kubwa kidnapping. This event has alarmed the community.

Ibrahim Musa, a commercial driver, witnessed the shocking event. “They forcefully dragged one man into their car. They shot another man who bravely tried to resist,” Musa recounted. His words paint a grim picture of the Abuja gunmen incident.

The injured victim is now in a hospital receiving care. The specific hospital remains undisclosed for safety. Eyewitnesses reported the gunmen fired their weapons repeatedly. The sporadic gunfire was to scare away residents. They then quickly fled with their captive.

Residents Feel Abandoned, Demand Security

People in the community voiced deep frustration. They spoke of a delayed response from security forces. Calls for help to police and local vigilantes reportedly went unanswered for too long. By the time security arrived, the attackers involved in the Kubwa kidnapping were gone.

“Everything happened so fast. We heard terrifying loud gunshots. People ran for their lives,” shared Grace Eze. Eze, a food vendor, spoke to National Scoop. “The man they took, he looked like he had no way to escape them,” she added, her voice filled with concern. This highlights worries about Gbazango community security.

Another resident, Kabiru Lawal, expressed his dismay. “The police arrived much later. The kidnappers had vanished by then.” Lawal made an urgent plea to authorities. He asked them to swiftly address the growing problem of abductions in their area. “We need action, not just words, after this Kubwa kidnapping,” he insisted.

Community Fearful, Calls for Urgent Action

A strong sense of fear now grips the Gbazango community. Residents are demanding immediate government intervention. “We live with constant fear now. The government must act decisively to protect us before more innocent lives are shattered,” Lawal urged.

The community chairman, Jonathan Agbo, confirmed he knew about the attack. Agbo stated he had just returned to the area. He said he needed more time to learn all the details.

Meanwhile, Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police spokesperson, acknowledged the report. Adeh promised a full investigation into the Kubwa kidnapping. However, she had not provided an update by the time this news was filed. The community awaits answers and reassurance.
