RIYADH – Saudi Arabia has officially announced the Hajj 2025 dates and the date for Eid Al Adha 2025. The announcement followed the sighting of the crescent moon for Dhul Hijjah. Dhul Hijjah is the twelfth and final month in the Islamic lunar calendar.
Haramain Sharifain shared the information on X (formerly Twitter). The post confirmed Dhul Hijjah 1446 begins Wednesday, May 28, 2025. The announcement stated: “First day of Dhul Hijjah – Wednesday, 28th May 2025.” This date starts a sacred period for Muslims globally, leading to the Hajj pilgrimage.
Key Dates: Day of Arafah and Hajj Climax
The Day of Arafah is the most important day of the Hajj pilgrimage. It is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2025. Millions of Muslim pilgrims will gather at Mount Arafat on this day. They will pray and reflect.

Eid Al Adha 2025: The Festival of Sacrifice

During Hajj, pilgrims chant the Talbiyah. Haramain Sharifain shared this traditional call: “Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk… La Sharika Lak.” This translates to, “O Allah, I am at Your service… You have no partner.”
