NAFDAC Warns Oyo Students: Drug Abuse Destroys Your Future

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued stern warns to Oyo State students about alcohol and substance abuse risks. The agency highlighted these dangers during the launch of its Consumer Safety Club at Ajibode High School.

Campaign Against Drug Epidemic

NAFDAC representatives emphasized that drug abuse threatens Nigeria’s future, causing mental disorders, academic failure, and death. Mrs. Roseline Ajayi, speaking for Director-General Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, described substance abuse as a growing epidemic endangering families and economic stability.

“These are very dangerous for adolescents like you, and you must resist the urge to drink alcohol. Once you start, you may not be able to stop,” Adeyeye warns students.

Officials explained how drug addiction damages vital organs, impairs cognitive abilities, and triggers psychiatric conditions like schizophrenia. Mrs. Ayombo Funmi Ogunyemi, Assistant Chief Regulator Officer, reinforced the warns against peer pressure.

NAFDAC State Coordinator Samuel Adeyemi urged parents, teachers, and students to unite against substance abuse. School principal Mrs. Oyepeju Adedeji pledged to support the anti-drug campaign.
