Ikeja – Speaker Mudashiru Obasa of the Lagos State House of Assembly is meeting behind closed doors with 39 lawmakers, including Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda.
The meeting started at 2:10 pm in Alausa. It’s designed to bring together lawmakers after a rocky patch and look ahead.
Mending Fences in the Assembly
Obasa’s return as Speaker on Monday came after the All Progressives Congress (APC) stepped in. Leaders from the party tried to smooth things over.
This meeting is a big step towards fixing the disagreements in the House. Remember, 33 members voted to remove Obasa back on January 13, 2025. It was a pretty dramatic moment!

The removal caused some real friction. Even President Bola Tinubu got involved, creating a committee to help everyone get along. Now, insiders are saying Obasa might drop the lawsuit he filed against the House of Assembly and those 33 lawmakers about his removal. It seems like everyone is ready to move forward.
