Commissioner Disu explained that the committee has one main objective: to provide security agencies with a clear understanding of the Almajiri influx in the FCT. This includes gathering detailed information about their living conditions, welfare, and access to education. Disu emphasized the importance of this effort, stating that a better understanding will allow security agencies to develop effective strategies to address the root causes of the problem.

Disu reassured residents that current security threats in the capital are low. However, he still urged everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police. The committee is made up of representatives from key organizations, including the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Department of State Service (DSS), as well as other important stakeholders. The committee has a two-week deadline to present its findings.

In a related announcement, the FCT Commissioner of Police confirmed that police arrested five suspects in connection with various crimes.
