Chelsea Conference League Hopes Soar After Dominant Win

LONDON – Chelsea delivered a commanding 4-1 victory over Djurgarden in their Conference League semi-final first leg. The win puts the London club in a strong position to reach the final.

Early goals set the stage. Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke found the net in the first half, giving Chelsea solid control. Nicolas Jackson added two more goals after halftime. Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen also played a key role. He made a crucial save, tipping a deflected shot from Djurgarden’s Tokmac Nguen over the bar.

Jackson’s Brace Strengthens Chelsea Conference League Position

Nicolas Jackson significantly boosted Chelsea’s advantage just before the 60-minute mark. He tapped the ball in after Djurgarden’s defence faltered. Six minutes later, Jackson struck again. He unleashed a sharp, left-footed shot from outside the box for his second goal. Djurgarden managed a late consolation goal. Teenager Isak Alemayehu Mulugeta scored with a powerful downward header, denying Chelsea a clean sheet in the Conference League tie.

In the competition’s other semi-final, Real Betis edged Fiorentina 2-1 in their first-leg match.

Chelsea now holds a significant lead heading into the return leg away from home.
