Economic Reforms Must Deliver Results, Urges Health Expert

Abuja – Health expert Prof. Oyewale Tomori has urged the Federal Government to accelerate the delivery of positive results from its economic reforms, stating that Nigerians’ patience is waning.

Tomori, a former Vice Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, made the call during a Friday appearance on Channels Television’s ‘Inside Sources’ with Laolu Akande. He noted that 22 months have passed since President Bola Tinubu’s administration implemented policies including petrol subsidy removal and foreign exchange unification. He stressed the need for demonstrable improvement in citizens’ lives.

Reforms and Public Expectations

Tomori acknowledged positive aspects of the government’s efforts but emphasized the importance of building on these successes. He warned that public patience is not limitless and that citizens need to experience tangible benefits from the economic reforms. He specifically called for progress on critical issues like security and electricity supply, which he said are essential for economic growth and improved living standards. Tomori also challenged state governments to increase their contributions to the well-being of their citizens, fostering broader public support for the government’s agenda and ensuring the success of economic reforms.
