Kaduna – Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
El-Rufai resigned from the APC because of the party’s “unhealthy situation.” He said the APC has moved away from its original values. He submitted his resignation letter and joined the SDP after talking with advisors.
“Today, I have submitted a letter resigning my membership of the APC,” he stated. “I have decided to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP).”
Future Political Plans
El-Rufai said he will work to unite opposition leaders under the SDP. His goal is to challenge the APC in future elections. He urges supporters to join the SDP. He wants Nigeria to become a source of pride.
