ATLANTA – Nigerian sprinter Favour Ofili set a world record in the women’s 150m on Saturday. This occurred at the 2025 Adidas Atlanta City Games in Piedmont Park. Ofili, 22, ran 15.85 seconds (2.0m/s wind). She is the first woman to run the 150m in under 16 seconds.
Ofili’s time broke the previous 150m record of 16.23s. Shaunae Miller-Uibo set that record in 2018. “I came here knowing I had something special in me,” Ofili said. “To break the world record in front of such an energetic crowd is a dream come true.” The world record is a significant athletic achievement.
