Osogbo, Nigeria – Governor Ademola Adeleke reinstated a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Ifon and Ilobu communities. The curfew is from 6 PM to 6 AM. This follows renewed clashes.
Security Measures and Meeting
Commissioner Kolapo Alimi announced the decision. He said the Governor expressed “unhappiness and dissatisfaction” with the violence. The Governor mandated security forces to maintain 24-hour surveillance. These forces include the Nigerian Army, Police, and Civil Defence Corps.
The Governor directed a stakeholders’ meeting on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Traditional rulers and community leaders will attend. They will explore peaceful resolutions.
The statement warned, “Anyone or group of persons found aiding and abetting the pogrom will be dealt with accordingly.” Governor Adeleke ordered security agencies to apprehend those responsible. He instructed the peace committee to resume efforts. The Governor had previously imposed a curfew. This is now extended.
