BENIN CITY – A Benin City man, Esosa Imasuen, allegedly beat his wife, Chinwedu Nnadozie, to death. The fatal incident happened in the Ogbelaka area following a domestic dispute. Residents of Oza Street, along Sakponba Road, reported that Imasuen severely assaulted Nnadozie, a mother of three. The assault caused critical internal injuries. The community is shocked by this case where a husband allegedly kills wife in Benin.
The victim’s father, Everistus Nnadozie, shared the painful details. “They said he took her to the hospital where a doctor was said to have carried out some tests on her, and the result showed that she had internal bleeding,” Mr. Nnadozie stated.
Victim Dies Before More Help, Body Reportedly Hidden
Chinwedu Nnadozie was rushed to a hospital. Her condition quickly worsened. She died before doctors could provide more help.
Her father expressed deep sorrow. He stated he was informed too late and did not see his daughter’s body. “She later gave up the ghost at the hospital before I could reach her,” he said. Adding to the family’s distress, Esosa Imasuen allegedly moved his wife’s corpse to an undisclosed mortuary. He reportedly did this without informing any of Chinwedu’s family members. The death of Chinwedu Nnadozie is a profound loss for her family.
Suspect Esosa Imasuen At Large, Police Initially Unaware
Esosa Imasuen has not been found. He has reportedly fled. “I went to his house, they said he had absconded,” Everistus Nnadozie explained. He added that calls to his son-in-law about the body’s location remain unanswered. The community wants the Esosa Imasuen suspect Edo found.
The Edo State Police Command stated it had not received an official report about the incident initially. A police spokesperson said, “I have contacted many police stations in Benin and none of them had received such a report.”
