JAMB 2025 Results Out, Thousands Withheld

Abuja – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the JAMB 2025 results for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). While many students can now see their scores, 39,834 candidates will have to wait. Their results are withheld because of suspected cheating during the exams. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, announced that 80 individuals are currently under investigation for exam-related offenses. He noted that Anambra State has the highest number of these suspects. Prof. Oloyede also highlighted new cheating methods. “The new trends observed this year were in the Registration and Examination processes,” he said, pointing to “Identity Fraud, and Biometric Fraud of Combined Thumbprint of Candidate.”

Scrutiny Over Exam Malpractices

Prof. Oloyede provided more details about the issues affecting the JAMB 2025 results. He stated that 2,157 candidates had their fingerprints rejected. This was due to suspected problems during their registration. Furthermore, officials caught 244 candidates using “WhatsApp runs” to cheat; their results are now withheld. There were also reports of some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers working with cheating groups. These centers allegedly registered 3,656 candidates with multiple fingerprints. As a result, JAMB has delisted and blacklisted four CBT centers. These centers showed technical failings and poor performance. Prof. Oloyede firmly stated that anyone involved in malpractice will face penalties and legal action.

JAMB Stands Firm on Exam Integrity

Despite the controversies surrounding some JAMB 2025 results, Prof. Oloyede described this year’s UTME as one of the most successful recently. He reinforced JAMB’s strong stance against any form of exam malpractice. He also assured the public that JAMB will keep improving its systems. These efforts aim to protect the credibility of the examination.

Candidates wishing to check their UTME results can do so easily. They should send the text ‘UTMERESULT’ to 55019 or 66019. It is important to use the same phone number that was used for the initial registration.
