Abuja – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released its statistical analysis for the UTME results 2025 on Monday, painting a challenging picture for many candidates. Out of nearly 2 million participants (1,955,069), a staggering 75% scored less than 200 marks out of a possible 400. This means over 1.5 million candidates did not reach the 200-mark threshold often considered a benchmark for university admissions in Nigeria.
Performance Highlights: UTME Results 2025
The data reveals a wide spread in performance, but confirms that high scores were relatively rare this year.
- Top Performers: Only 12,414 candidates (0.63%) achieved a score of 300 or above. Within this group, 4,756 candidates (0.24%) scored 320 or higher.

- Majority Score Range: The largest group of candidates, 983,187 (50.29%), scored between 160 and 199.
