Kano Court Sets Date for Ganduje Bribery Case Hearing

A Kano State High Court has set April 15, 2025, to hear objections in the high-profile bribery case against Abdullahi Ganduje, the National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ganduje, along with his wife, Hafsat Umar, and six others, faces accusations of bribery, misappropriation, and diverting billions of naira in public funds.

The Kano State Government filed an eight-count charge against the defendants. During a court session on Thursday, the prosecution lawyer requested more time to finalise their preliminary objection. Similarly, defence lawyers also asked for an extension to prepare their legal documents, including affidavits.

Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu approved all time extension requests. The court then postponed the case until April 15, 2025.

The case, centred on allegations of bribery and financial misconduct, has captured widespread public attention in Nigeria.
