Abuja – The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has successfully completed the Killaboi extradition. Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, known online as “Killaboi,” returned to Nigeria from Doha, Qatar. He faces charges for the murder of Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe. Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the extradition in a statement Saturday. The operation involved joint efforts from the Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL NCB Abuja, and Qatari authorities.
Details of the Crime and Suspect’s Flight
Authorities accuse Nnayereugo of murdering Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe. The 21-year-old student died at his residence in Ajah, Lagos, on July 13, 2023. Following the incident, Nnayereugo fled Nigeria. He later released an online video appearing to confess. Officials view this as an attempt to obstruct the investigation. Nnayereugo travelled through West Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East. He used false identities, including “KANU PRINCETON SAMUEL” and “TOURE ABDOULAYE,” supported by a fraudulent Guinean passport. He was arrested in Sierra Leone in October 2023 but escaped during a prison break.
International Manhunt Ends with Capture
Nnayereugo’s run ended in Qatar in February 2025. International cooperation and advanced biometric technology led to his capture. Qatari authorities arrested him after confirming his identity. This successful Killaboi extradition shows the power of global police teamwork. Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun thanked the Attorney-General, INTERPOL, and Qatar officials. He stressed the need for international partnership to fight cross-border crime. The IGP assured the public the Nigeria Police Force will pursue justice. He confirmed the suspect will face a thorough prosecution.
