Lagos Island Building Collapse: Two Rescued

A building collapse occurred Sunday afternoon on Lagos Island. A three-storey building under construction at 4 Agarawu Street gave way. Emergency crews responded to the scene.

Rescuers pulled two individuals from the debris. Both victims required urgent medical attention and were taken to a hospital. Authorities confirmed no fatalities resulted from the building collapse.

Lagos Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident. Police secured the area around the site. The cordon ensures public safety and allows site access for investigators.

This event raises concerns about construction safety in Lagos State. A similar incident occurred one month prior on Oriwu Street in Lekki Phase 1.
