Lagos – The Lagos State Government is investigating the sad death of Mrs. Folajimi, a pregnant woman. Reports say a private hospital in Lakowe, Ibeju-Lekki, denied her emergency care. The hospital reportedly asked for money first. This investigation looks into the pregnant woman’s death.
State Starts Official Probe
The state’s Health Commissioner, Prof. Akin Abayomi, confirmed the investigation. He promised quick action against any people or places found at fault. “We are increasing checks to make sure hospitals follow high standards of care,” Prof. Abayomi said. The Ministry of Health is working with the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA). They have set up a special panel. The panel will find any broken rules. It will find who is responsible for the pregnant woman’s death. Prof. Abayomi stated that all health centers must follow HEFAMAA rules, including regular checks.
Seeking Justice, Preventing Future Problems
The government asks people to report hospitals working without proper papers or not meeting standards. Prof. Abayomi asked community leaders, religious groups, and health workers to work together. They should improve health for mothers and stop this from happening again. “‘We promise to get justice for Mrs. Folajimi and her family,’ he said. This shows the government’s commitment after the sad pregnant woman’s death.
