Miyetti Allah Chairman Killed: Police Investigate

Ilorin – Alhaji Idris Abubakar Sakaina, the Miyetti Allah Chairman in Kwara State, died after gunmen shot him. The incident occurred Saturday evening.

Gunmen attacked Sakaina in front of his house around 10 p.m. He was returning home. The association’s spokesperson confirmed the attack to reporters.

Police Investigate the Killing

The Kwara State Police Command released a statement Sunday confirming the incident. Officers found five 7.62mm shells at the scene. The police stated the Miyetti Allah Chairman was shot on March 8, 2025, at his home in Oke-Oyi.

The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) is investigating. Police will bring those responsible to justice.

Sakaina was buried Sunday morning in Ilorin. His death has shocked members of the association.

Police ask the public to stay calm. They request any information that could help identify the killers of the Miyetti Allah Chairman.
