A Lagos State Magistrate Court has cleared singer Naira Marley, along with three others, of any involvement in the death of musician Mohbad. The court’s decision follows legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) and a police investigation. Both found no evidence linking them to Mohbad’s death.
Naira Marley addressed the situation after the court’s decision. He stated that he faced the justice system directly, despite others potentially hoping he would avoid it.
Music promoter Samson Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde, were also acquitted.
Nurse and Friend Indicted
The DPP’s advice, however, indicted auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who treated Mohbad, and Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad. They face accusations of reckless and negligent conduct. Naira Marley expressed relief and said he had reconciled with Mohbad before his death. He believes the truth will emerge despite any false narratives.
