NDLEA Officers Shot in Abuja Ambush After Drug Raid

Abuja – Three agents from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) were injured by gunfire Friday. The NDLEA officers shot incident occurred following a drug raid in Abuja’s Jahi district. They are currently hospitalized.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed the attack in a statement Friday. He explained the raid targeted an unfinished building based on solid intelligence. During the operation, agents seized codeine, tramadol, skunk, and mobile phones.

Details of the Attack

As the NDLEA team left the location, attackers opened fire. Babafemi detailed the injuries: “Three officers sustained gunshot injuries—one in the rib, and two others in the back and leg.” The injured men first received care at the Police Clinic in Garki. They were then transferred to the National Hospital Abuja for advanced treatment after the NDLEA officers shot incident.

NDLEA Pledges Action

NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa contacted the wounded officers by phone from Kano. He expressed his support and praised the quick actions of the medical staff involved. Marwa firmly stated the agency will pursue the attackers. He vowed collaboration with other security forces to ensure justice following the  officers shot attack.
