Nigeria’s FAAC Revenue Falls in February 2025

Abuja – Nigeria’s Federation Account Allocation Committee FAAC revenue dropped by N194.664 billion in February 2025. The FAAC communiqué reported this decline.

Revenue Distribution

Federal, state, and local governments shared N1.678 trillion in revenue. This was lower than the N1.848 trillion distributed in January 2025.

The federal government received N569.656 billion. State governments received N562.195 billion. Local government councils received N410.559 billion. Also, N136.042 billion (13% of mineral revenue) went to benefiting states as derivation revenue.

The N1.678 trillion distributable revenue came from several sources: N827.633 billion from statutory revenue, N609.430 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), N35.171 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and N28.218 billion from solid minerals revenue. An augmentation of N178 billion was included to cover the shortfall.

Revenue performance varied across sectors in February. Oil and gas royalty and EMTL collections increased. However, revenue from VAT, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Companies Income Tax (CIT), excise duty, import duty, and Common External Tariff (CET) levies declined. This caused the overall drop in FAAC revenue.
