Abuja – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says democracy has failed in Africa. He spoke at a colloquium for Emeka Ihedioha.
Obasanjo Questions Current System
Obasanjo said democracy in Africa is not African. He questioned if Africa is practicing true democracy or Western liberal. He said Africa had its own governance system before colonial rule. Obasanjo criticized the current system. He said it empowers leaders to be corrupt. He believes that it should serve all people, not just a few.
