Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, received endorsement for a second term from All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the Ekiti Central Senatorial District on Monday. The endorsement happened at a special senatorial meeting at Fajuyi Pavilion, Ado Ekiti.
Key political figures supported the endorsement. Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Hon. Biodun Omoleye, and former Acting Governor Rt. Hon. Tope Ademiluyi moved and seconded the motion. They cited Oyebanji’s performance as the reason for their support.
Prof. Modupe Adelabu, former Deputy Governor and Chairman of Ekiti Central APC Stakeholders, highlighted the administration’s projects. “We are here to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our governor,” she said. Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele noted the importance of continuity. He praised Oyebanji for uniting political factions. “The greatest achievement of Governor Oyebanji is being able to unite everybody,” Bamidele stated.
Governor Oyebanji thanked APC leaders and members. He also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support. “I am very touched by this endorsement,” Oyebanji said. He confirmed his dedication to serving the people.
Oyebanji clarified that the endorsement does not exclude other aspirants. He emphasized that the APC is a democratic party.
Many political figures attended the event. Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, Speaker of the State Assembly Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, and other dignitaries were present. They reiterated their support for Oyebanji’s leadership and the state’s development.
