Police Deploy Tactical Assets To Plateau After Deadly Attacks

Jos – Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered reinforcements to Plateau State following increased violence. The Police deploy tactical assets to Plateau communities need after recent deadly attacks, including a March 28 assault in Bokkos LGA that killed at least 50 people.

Increased Security Measures

The Nigeria Police Force sent trained personnel and equipment to improve security. This includes tactical teams, drones, Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), helicopters, and Special Intervention Squad (SIS) platoons. Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi said these resources will be used for operations to stop current violence and prevent future attacks. The strategic placement ensures Police deploy tactical assets to Plateau effectively. Adejobi stated the police will work with the Plateau State Government and local leaders for peace.

Coordination and Cooperation

Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Kwazhi Yakubu leads this security operation. He met Governor Caleb Mutfwang upon arrival to offer condolences. The police ask residents to cooperate and share information to help the investigation and maintain peace. Authorities seek a long-term solution, working with state and local leaders.
