PSG Edge Arsenal in UCL Semi-Final First Leg


LONDON – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) leads Arsenal 1-0 after the first leg of their PSG Arsenal Champions League semi-final. Ousmane Dembele scored the only goal of the match.

Dembele Goal Separates Teams

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia assisted Ousmane Dembele for the goal. PSG had more control during the game, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya made important saves. A VAR decision also helped keep PSG’s lead at one goal.

VAR Disallows Arsenal Goal

Arsenal thought they had tied the score when Mikel Merino headed in a Declan Rice free-kick. After a VAR check, the goal was disallowed for offside. PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma also made saves against Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Arsenal had possession but struggled to create good scoring opportunities.

Second Leg Set for Paris

PSG holds a 1-0 advantage going into the second leg at the Parc des Princes in Paris next week. Arsenal needs to win the next match to reach the Champions League final. The PSG edge Arsenal in Champions League tie will be decided in the return leg.
