Riyadh – Eid al-Fitr begins Sunday, March 30, 2025, Saudi Arabia announced. The announcement followed the sighting of the crescent moon. This ends the holy month of Ramadan.
The Royal Court confirmed the date. “The Supreme Court decided that tomorrow, Sunday, March 30, 2025, is the first day of Eid al-Fitr,” an announcement said. The official Saudi Press Agency shared the news. The date follows the Muslim lunar calendar.
Regional Dates Vary
Other Gulf nations also announced Sunday for Eid al-Fitr. The United Arab Emirates and Qatar confirmed this date. But Oman and Iran said their celebrations start Monday. Dates can differ based on local moon sightings.
Celebrations During Conflict
This year’s Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr happen during the Gaza conflict. Reports say many people died from Israel’s military actions. This makes the usually happy holiday feel sad in many Muslim areas.
