Shettima Hajj Message: Uphold Nigeria’s Dignity Abroad

Owerri – Vice-President Kashim Shettima delivered an important Hajj Message to Nigerian pilgrims. They are preparing for the 2025 Hajj. He spoke at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport in Owerri, Imo State. Shettima told the pilgrims they are ambassadors for Nigeria. He said they carry Nigeria’s pride along with their faith. “Your conduct, your devotion, and your unity must reflect the values we hold dear,” Shettima stated. He added that this responsibility is significant.

Government Pledges Full Support for Smooth Hajj

Vice-President Shettima assured pilgrims of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment. He said President Tinubu has ensured all necessary resources are ready for a successful 2025 Hajj. Shettima called upon the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and all involved parties. He asked them to work together. This teamwork will help meet the government’s goals. “The success of this Hajj operation rests on all our shoulders,” Shettima emphasized. He warned that failures could spoil the pilgrimage. This makes the core Hajj Message one of shared responsibility.

Sultan Highlights Unity at Send-Off

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, also addressed the pilgrims. He praised Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma. The Sultan lauded the governor for promoting religious tolerance and peace in Imo State. “This event is a big statement,” the Sultan said. He explained that it shows good people like Governor Uzodinma exist in Nigeria. He added that the event in Imo demonstrates Nigeria’s true character. The Sultan emphasized that mutual respect is key to the nation’s advancement. The presence of diverse leaders reinforced the unity aspect of the Hajj Message.
