Super Eagles Held To Draw, World Cup Qualification Hindered

Uyo – Nigeria’s Super Eagles drew 1-1 against Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. This result affects their World Cup qualification hopes. They entered the match after a 2-0 victory over Rwanda. Nigeria controlled possession early but missed scoring chances against Zimbabwe’s defense.

Goals Exchanged Late

Victor Osimhen scored for the Super Eagles in the 74th minute. He headed in a cross from Moses Simon. Zimbabwe nearly scored when a shot hit the crossbar. Tawanda Chirewa then scored for Zimbabwe in the 90th minute. He beat goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali at the near post.

Wilfred Ndidi missed a final opportunity for Nigeria to win. The draw means they lose important points in their World Cup qualifying group.
