Lagos State Police have detained two men in connection with the alleged child defilement and impregnation of a 14-year-old girl. The suspects, aged 38 and 30, were arrested in the Okokomaiko area.
The girl’s mother reported the incident to the Okokomaiko Police Division on Friday. Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the report. “The survivor’s mother said that her daughter was defiled by her husband and his friend,” Hundeyin stated.
The survivor is reportedly nine months pregnant.
The case is now with the Gender Unit in Ikeja for further investigation. Police will bring charges against the two men after the investigation ends. This case of child defilement requires a rapid and careful response.
Hundeyin highlighted the seriousness of the crime. The police are working to ensure a complete investigation.
