World Cup Hopes Rise: Nigeria Beats Rwanda

Huye, Rwanda – Nigeria’s Super Eagles boosted their 2026 World Cup hopes. They beat Rwanda 2-0 on Friday.

Osimhen Stars in Key Win

Victor Osimhen scored two goals. His first came in the 11th minute. He finished after an Ademola Lookman free-kick. He scored again in stoppage time. He dribbled from midfield and chipped the goalkeeper.

The win put Nigeria in fourth place in Group C. They have six points. Nigeria is one point behind Rwanda. They are two points behind Benin Republic. South Africa leads by four points.

Coach Eric Chelle used a strong team. Osimhen and Lookman were up front. Nigeria plays Zimbabwe next, in Uyo on Tuesday.
